About the University
Historical Significance
The University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna (Vetmeduni), founded in 1765 by Empress Maria Theresa, is the only academic institution in Austria dedicated to veterinary medicine and the oldest in the German-speaking world.
Advanced Infrastructure
Vetmeduni employs 1,300 staff members and currently educates 2,300 students. The campus in Vienna’s Floridsdorf district includes five university hospitals and state-of-the-art research infrastructure.
University Values
